Red State- Kevin Smith

I remember watching Clerks in my box of a bedroom at my grandmas house when I was a teenager and laughing my ass off. Ninety minutes of hilarious dialogue about dicks and farts. I of course continued to check his shit and was a supporter till Jersey Girl which sucked a dick.
I heard about Kevin Smith doing a horror film and was kinda confused. Could he pull it off? I mean he makes me laugh in the same way I make me laugh. Childish humor that works for what it is. I then heard it was going to be loosely based on Fred Phelps and his gang of shitheads.  My mind was blown. Such serious subject matter? I am a pretty easy going dude and can find humor in things most people will shy away from. I know lots of humanity is fucked so I try and go about my business and do what I can but overall just have a good time till I take that permanent nap. With that said one thing that over the years has made me angry on so many levels is the Westboro Baptist Church. I mean I am not a fan of war but I am not going to go to a solders funeral and protest it. Jesus people. The hate that these people spout is beyond me. I don't have it in me to even hate them that much.  I won't go into detail as this is by no means a place for politics, its a drunk horror website for Christ sake. I am just saying that Kevin Smith picked something that automatically got me all raged up. Well the booze didn't help either. Well actually it did.
This movie is as gripping as a thirteen year old to his wang when he first found cinemax.  I couldn't look away. I was drawn in like the kid in that A-Ha video.  The cast is fantastic. Michael Parks made me want to punch him in the dick hard, which I assume is what he was going for. John Goodman. Do I need to say more. Kevin Pollak, Mark Blucas, Stephen Root, Kyle Gallner and well everybody was top notch.  This is by far Smith's most effective film to date and is just a great film all around.
The world would be such a better place if everyone would just pour it out. Pour what out you ask? The Haterade. POUR IT OUT.

Dear Mr. Gacy- Svetozar Ristovski

I love Serial Killers.  I have read so many books, constantly  read serial killer calenders articles and look at all their merch with seamen leaking out of little tromeric dreaming of owning all the statues, not to mention all the movies I have spent time watching. There have been some great ones, amazing documentary's, movies like Monster and the Manson family that have blown my fucking mind, and of course all the shitty ones. I mean for Christs sake I watched a movie where fucking Kane Hodder plays Ed Gein. Really?  The thing is I still watched it and would watch it again. I guess what I am saying is I am slightly biased.  With that said, Dear Mr. Gacy is in its own fucking boat.  Its like The Asylums Titanic 2, no Leo love bullshit here just badassary.
Dear Mr. Gacy is very dialogue driven. It is based off the book The Last Victim by Jason Moss and is very different than the majority of the Serial Killer movies that have been released.  It is mostly carried by William Forsythe who plays Gacy in a chilling and remarkably realistic fashion. Jessie Moss is also unbelievable as Jason Moss.
This movie will get under your skin, the letters and conversations had between Gacy and Moss will have you clenching your asshole as if you were playing the oops poops gamble. It is very tension based and is more effective than setting a horse loose in Christopher Reeves house. From start to finish you will cringe at these convo's.  They just keep happening.  You are watching these two men get underneath each others skin but in turn your skin will rip itself off and start making itself into lampshades.  I am rambleing. Gordon and Evan are working it in my bloodstream.  If you want to see some great fucking acting that is equally interesting as it is disturbing give this shit a watch.  We all have a dark side and it is important to delve into it in healthy ways such as reading and watching and studying, otherwise you may become this sick fuck who can only feel alive if your the one that everyone is reading essays on.
Long story short.  Great acting, disturbing as fuck, interesting and important.

My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done- Werner Herzog

So when I heard that David Lynch was producing a movie directed by Werner Herzog I came so hard I shot a load that went back through time and while doing this went through, Martin Luther King Jr, JFK, Abraham Lincoln,  and caused the Roswell Crash.  Mystery solved mother fuckers put down your pipes and your books on conspiracy theory's I just solved some of Americas biggest mysteries.  Sure I may of caused them as well with my monster load of excitement but I think I deserve a prize, open up that cracker jack box bitch. Lets do this. Anyways, back to the point, My Son, My Son is amazing.  It is a crime drama full of a great cast, flamingos, ostrich and the Urubamba River which everyone should know from the classic Fitzcarraldo.  Like I said earlier the cast in this is amazing, Grace Zabriskie is chilling and is so nice that I kept expecting her to pull out a coat hanger to beat Michael Shannon with.  Speaking of Michael Shannon, wow, his insanity is treated absolutely perfectly here which I'm sure was a team effort between him and Herzog. The way he speaks of God(aka oatmeal lord) and the sick and his mother. This guy freaks me the fuck out, Is he the new Klaus Kinski? Well obviously that is impossible but I'm pretty sure he took some inspiration from the crazy man himself, from what I hear there was no guns drawn of fights over snake bites and candy bars but the look on his face brought me in as Klaus used to.  Brad Dourif is hilarious as the hateful ostrich farmer.  Udo Kier has his glasses stolen right out of his pocket by one of those creepy all neck birds and Willem Dafoe is of course amazing as the lead detective uncovering all the back story told through flashbacks from Kier and Sevigny.  As the tag line says, "The Mystery isn't who. But Why."  The directing of course is beautiful and slow and almost as if was set up as still photography, which is not shocking when you have Lynch and Herzog involved.  As we all know from the commentary on Nosferatu, he likes the beauty, he is not Spielberg, there is no explosions something as simple as a river or a basketball can be a thing of beauty.  I can't recommend this enough. It is something very different in a world full of remakes and conventional fast cut MTV editing. If you have been crying for something that doesn't give into the conventions as I have, put your hankie down you fucking pussy and watch this as you have found it.
