VonKlingele Kustoms Cannibal Holocaust Action Figure Contest

What do I really need to say? You need this. Leave a comment with your favorite thing about, or part of Cannibal Holocaust, and at the end of the week I will pick a random winner. Thanks to Jacob VonKlingele for offering up such a badass piece for Extreme Week. Gonna be hard to give this one away.

Jacob lives in Washington State with his wife Alisha VonKlingele, and their two two demon spawn(the good kind of demon). He plays with their toys more than they do. Sometimes contributor to the grog as well as building  fucktons of custom action figures. You can check out some of his work over at VonKlingele Kustoms.

Favorite thing about Cannibal Holocaust... it makes me want to try turtle meat really bad. All kidding aside, I love the music. It twists me up and creeps me out and it's so damn beautiful. I love that it was repurposed for Treevenge.
grindhousehorror@gmail.com (If I win maybe I'l reenact the crotch impalement on video set to more lively, upbeat music). :)

Favorite part of the movie is Alan Yates' reaction to the impaled girl. All smilin' 'n shit. So sick and twisted, perfect display of how a civilized human can be pretty fucked up.

Favorite part about this figure. Goddamn everything. Genius idea for a custom!

The great thing about CH is how beautifully filmed and expertly crafted the entire film is while being a gut wrenching and stomach churning experience.

My favorite thing about Cannibal Holocaust is the incredible score by Riz Ortolani, IMO the greatest and most beautiful Italo-horror-score ever composed (sorry Goblin).

My favorite thing about Cannibal Holocaust is that I learned that the inside of a turtle is more blue than I expected. I also love the pseudo-documentary feel.

The thing I love most about Cannibal Holocaust is how much it makes my stomach queasy when I watch it. I remember the first time I watched the turtle scene...i was eating a burrito. And I puked soon after. It's strange that having a stomach ache when I'm watching this is what I love most. But I guess I love that this movie affects me like that.

And my Birthday is soon! Jimmy already got an awesome early Birthday gift!

My favorite thing about the movie is the grisly realism. The grainy, dark feeling of watching something you shouldn't be watching. The music really adds to the experience as well.

My favorite thing about Cannibal Holocaust is the very realistic style of the whole movie. The believable nature of how the movie is constructed, that's what I like about it. I like the style and tone of it and also the score is really good. katieandjay95@yahoo.com

My favorite thing about Cannibal Holocaust is all the controversy surrounding the film. The censorship and banning in several countries, the animal cruelty, and the court cases that surround this film alone caught my attention. Joshfortner83@gmail.com

My favorite thing about CH is the CH DVD because I can easily skip the unnecessary animal cruelty scenes and enjoy the rest of the movie. Thank you and good night.

The cinematography! I love the lingering shots that show off the jungle. Not to mention Deodato hardly shied away from showing anything. I don't think the violence would be as affecting if it wasn't juxtaposed with the beautiful camera work.

My favorite thing about Cannibal Holocaust is how the music was completely opposite to all the carnage going on screen. With all the chaos going on a nice peaceful tune would play.

Absolutely the score, it'll mess with you in ways the visuals only wish they could, but coupled together is a film truly beautiful and disturbing. Email is xjunkyardx@gmail.com

What I love about Cannibal Holocaust... It is one of the very few movies that still has the power to make me cover my eyes and watch through splayed fingers. I must have this action figure!

My favorite thing about Cannibal Holocaust was that I had been a pussy for years and not watched it because I wasn't sure I could handle it. Then when I finally did, it didn't bother me at all because those bastard college kids got what was coming to them. A revenge flick where the cannibalistic tribes get sweet justice at the end? Talk about a feel-good movie.

What do I like the most? The fact that it really "goes all the way!" I read the reviews, I heard the hype...I thought I was prepared. Wow, was I sorely mistaken! Talk about exploitation/extreme cinema at its finest. The score, the special effects...all top notch. Excellent film! - Vince T. (vincent.trocki@gmail.com)

Hey Eric,
I might have to get this in my toy collection...
My favorite and shocking scene from Cannibal Holocaust was when the film crew rapes the young tribe girl and one of the crew member (the girlfriend) tries to stops them... but it's obvious that the girlfriend is trying to stop the rape not because she feels bad about the tribe girl, but that she feels jealous.

I always liked the gritiness of it all. The affects were great for the time is what made, even though some of the effects where real from what I have read(turtle). I like the impalment scene the best with its realistic special effects. I hope i'm lucky enough to own this awesome figure. steventhager27@yahoo.com if you pick me.

i love how dedicated everyone was to the movie, how the actors agreed to pretend to be dead by staying out of the media to make the movie seem real. I loved that it looked so real that murder charges were made. The above toy is so iconic, you instantly know where it is from even if you haven't seen the movie, you damn right have heard of it.

Any film that earns its director jail time is a winner in my book. But my absolute favorite thing about the film is that it unknowingly planted the seed for the future horror wave of found footage films. Really though what's not to love?

My favorite thing about the movie was most definitely the cinematography, the way it was shot was awesome! and the fact people thought the actor's were really killed gold!

I think my favorite and most memorable moment related to Cannibal Holocaust would have to be the decision to watch it for the first time with my little Jewish mother... 'nuff said.

Jacob's work never ceases to amaze me. My favorite thing about Cannibal Holocaust is that, as the first bootleg VHS I ever bought, it was my true gateway into the word of extreme horror.

Always loved the music to Cannibal Holocaust. I remember buying the DVD years ago and actually being too afraid to watch it for at least 2 years. Glad I finally did though!

Unknown said...

My husband made me watch it and I thought I was going to hate it. It was actually pretty gruesome but fun. Certainly better than some of the other cannibal shit he makes me watch, lol.

Even though I want to say I love all the skin munching (and I do! I do!), the thing that really makes CH stand out for me is the structure. It's so easy for horror flicks to fall into a trap of linear narration that just gets dull overtime. CH takes us on a ride back and forth through time, which is almost as disorienting as the situation itself.

my favorite part is the Piranha scene, of course!
